Return & Refund Policy

At Slab Seekers, we specialize in collectible trading cards, graded slabs, raw singles, and select sealed products. Due to the condition-sensitive and market-sensitive nature of collectible items, this Return & Refund Policy is designed to protect both our customers and the integrity of our inventory while remaining compliant with applicable Canadian consumer protection laws and Shopify requirements.

By placing an order through our store, you agree to the terms outlined below.


1. Return Eligibility

All return requests are reviewed individually based on:

  • Product type
  • Product condition
  • Order history
  • Fulfillment records
  • Reason for the request
  • Applicable consumer protection laws

Return requests must be submitted within 48 hours of confirmed delivery for:

  • Damaged items
  • Incorrect items
  • Missing items
  • Items significantly different from the product description

To initiate a return request, customers must contact us before sending any item back.


2. Graded Cards & Slabs

Graded cards and slabs are generally considered final sale due to:

  • Market volatility
  • Third-party grading subjectivity
  • Inventory sensitivity
  • Collector-based pricing fluctuations

Returns for graded cards may only be approved if:

  • The wrong item was shipped
  • The item arrived physically damaged during transit
  • The item materially differs from the listing description
  • A return is otherwise required by applicable law

We do not guarantee:

  • Third-party grading outcomes
  • Future market value
  • Investment performance
  • Resale profitability
  • Cross-grading outcomes
  • Subgrade interpretations

Minor slab case wear, surface scratches on holders, manufacturer imperfections, or normal handling wear from grading companies do not qualify as item defects.

We do not accept returns for:

  • Buyer’s remorse
  • Market price changes
  • Player performance changes
  • Population report changes
  • Registry ranking disputes
  • Personal grading disagreements
  • Resale expectations

3. Raw Trading Cards

Raw cards may be eligible for return only if:

  • The incorrect card was shipped
  • The item materially differs from the product listing
  • The card arrived damaged due to packaging or shipping error

Raw cards are sold according to the condition stated in the listing. Customers acknowledge that condition evaluations may contain subjective elements.

Minor factory imperfections may exist, including:

  • Print lines
  • Centering variances
  • Edge whitening
  • Surface imperfections
  • Minor scratches
  • Factory roller marks

Cards must be returned in the exact condition received.

Returns may be denied if the item shows signs of:

  • Use
  • Handling damage
  • Cleaning
  • Alteration
  • Tampering
  • Grading submission attempts
  • Condition changes after delivery

4. Sealed Products

Sealed products, including booster boxes, packs, tins, elite trainer boxes (ETBs), and sealed collectibles, are non-returnable once opened.

Opened sealed products are final sale.

Unopened sealed products may only qualify for return if:

  • The wrong item was shipped
  • The item arrived damaged
  • The item materially differs from the listing
  • A return is required under applicable law

Any evidence of:

  • Opening
  • Resealing
  • Tampering
  • Product manipulation
    will void return eligibility.

Pack contents are randomized by the manufacturer. Slab Seekers does not guarantee specific pulls, hit rates, chase cards, or sealed product outcomes.


5. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are generally non-returnable unless otherwise required by law:

  • Final sale items
  • Opened sealed products
  • Gift cards
  • Digital products
  • Clearance items marked final sale
  • Custom orders
  • Products damaged after delivery
  • Items altered after receipt
  • Returns related to market fluctuations or buyer’s remorse

6. Shipping Damage Claims

If your order arrives damaged, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery confirmation.

Please provide:

  • Order number
  • Clear photos of the product
  • Clear photos of all packaging materials
  • Photos of the shipping label
  • Description of the issue

Customers must retain all original packaging materials while the claim is reviewed.

Failure to provide sufficient documentation may result in denial of the claim.


7. Return Authorization Process

Returns sent without written authorization may be refused.


8. Return Shipping

If a return is approved due to an error made by Slab Seekers, we may provide return shipping instructions and cover approved return shipping costs.

For all other approved returns, customers are responsible for return shipping expenses.

We strongly recommend:

  • Tracking
  • Insurance
  • Signature confirmation

We are not responsible for returned packages lost, delayed, stolen, or damaged during transit.


9. Refund Processing

Once an approved return is received and inspected, refunds will be processed to the original payment method where possible.

Refund processing times vary by:

  • Payment provider
  • Financial institution
  • Payment processor

Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless:

  • The return was caused by our error
  • Required by applicable law

If a returned item fails inspection or violates this policy, the return may be denied and returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.


10. Orders Marked Delivered

Once a shipment is marked as delivered by the carrier, responsibility for the package transfers to the customer unless otherwise required by law.

If a package is marked delivered but cannot be located:

  • Contact the shipping carrier immediately
  • Verify the shipping address
  • Check nearby delivery areas
  • Notify us so we may assist where possible

We are not responsible for:

  • Stolen packages
  • Carrier delivery errors
  • Unsecured delivery locations after confirmed delivery

11. Order Cancellations

Orders may only be canceled before:

  • Processing
  • Packing
  • Shipment preparation
  • Label creation

Due to automated fulfillment workflows and inventory reservation systems, cancellation requests are not guaranteed.

Once an order enters fulfillment or shipment processing, cancellation may no longer be possible.


12. Preorders

Preorder items are products sold before official release or before inventory is physically received.

Estimated release dates and fulfillment windows are subject to:

  • Supplier allocations
  • Distributor delays
  • Manufacturer delays
  • Shipping disruptions

Preorder dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Customers agree that preorder fulfillment delays do not automatically qualify for cancellation or compensation unless required by law.


13. Market Volatility Disclaimer

Trading card values may fluctuate significantly due to:

  • Supply and demand
  • Player performance
  • Tournament results
  • Reprints
  • Population reports
  • Collector demand
  • Market trends

Purchases are made at the customer’s discretion.

Slab Seekers does not provide refunds based on:

  • Market decline
  • Investment dissatisfaction
  • Missed resale opportunities
  • Future valuation changes

14. Fraud Prevention & Chargeback Protection

To protect our customers and business, we actively monitor transactions and return activity for fraud prevention purposes.

We reserve the right to document:

  • Packaging processes
  • Shipment weights
  • Product serial numbers
  • Grading certification numbers
  • Fulfillment records
  • Tracking information
  • Delivery confirmations
  • Packaging evidence

Returns or disputes involving:

  • Card swapping
  • False damage claims
  • Resealing
  • Chargeback abuse
  • Misrepresentation
    may be denied and reported to the appropriate payment processor or platform where necessary.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Slab Seekers shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect damages
  • Incidental damages
  • Consequential damages
  • Market losses
  • Lost profits
  • Investment losses
  • Delays caused by carriers
  • Events outside our reasonable control

Our maximum liability relating to any order shall not exceed the original purchase amount paid for the applicable product.


16. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • Carrier disruptions
  • Postal strikes
